Reliability Engineering Lab is a Dutch sole proprietorship (eenmanszaak) based in Amsterdam, registered with the Chamber of Commerce under number 42045029. We are the data controller for personal data we process via this website and in our engagements.

We only collect data needed to answer your question or run an engagement. No tracking cookies, no advertising pixels, no analytics profiles.

• Contact form: name, work email, company name, role, company size, message.
• Client contact: data you share during intake, email and calendar traffic, contract details.
• Server logs: IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp. Anonymised after 30 days.

We use personal data only for the purposes below.

• Replying to your question or making a proposal.
• Running engagements you've contracted us for.
• Meeting legal obligations (bookkeeping, tax).
• Securing our systems against abuse.

Each processing activity rests on one of these bases.

• Consent: when you submit the contact form.
• Contract performance: for client data.
• Legal obligation: for tax-related retention.
• Legitimate interest: for server logs and abuse prevention.

Data isn't kept longer than necessary.

• Contact enquiries without follow-up: 12 months, then deleted.
• Client data and invoices: 7 years (Dutch tax retention requirement).
• Server logs: 30 days, then anonymised.

We work with a small set of processors, each bound by a data processing agreement.

• HubSpot: CRM for contact form submissions, EU tenant.
• DocuSign: electronic signing of SOW, NDA, and DPA.
• Microsoft Azure: hosting for this website and internal tooling.
• Email provider for business correspondence.

We host within the European Economic Area where possible. Where a processor sits outside the EEA (for instance a US vendor), we use Standard Contractual Clauses and assess the protection level per vendor.

• Access: request what data we hold about you.
• Correction: have inaccurate data corrected.
• Deletion: have data deleted, unless a legal retention applies.
• Restriction: have processing limited.
• Objection: object to processing based on legitimate interest.
• Data portability: receive your data in a machine-readable format.
• Withdraw consent: when consent is the legal basis.

This website uses no tracking cookies and sets no analytics pixels. Only functional cookies strictly required for the contact form, and they are not linked to personal data.

If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, contact us first. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.
